1) Honesty
Honesty is a virtue, but it doesn’t feel like one when you’re on its receiving end. People lie to each other so often that most don’t even realize they’re doing it; studies say we lie several times every day, and children begin doing so as early as age three. Why do we lie? Because lying allows us to get our way without feeling guilty about it.
2) Respect
Respecting other people and believing in their intrinsic value can completely change your perspective on life. When you stop degrading others, you’ll no longer feel disgusted for others who don’t meet your standards or want what you have, and you’ll be able to relate to just about anyone because you’ll be genuinely interested in their well-being. Treat everyone with respect even if they don’t deserve it at first you never know what someone else is going through!
3) Forgiveness
Forgiveness is letting go of resentments, anger, and blame. It’s not just something you do; it’s also a way of life. When you hold on to resentment, bitterness, and anger towards others, it affects your health and your relationships. Forgiveness allows you to let go of these harmful emotions so that you can make new choices in life. After all, forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves. It doesn’t mean that you forget what happened or excuse someone else’s actions.
4) Responsibility
In today’s fast-paced world, we must all be responsible for our actions and use our power for good. The first step to being responsible is admitting that you can make a difference, no matter how small. Once you realize that every little thing you do or neglect to do can have an impact on someone else’s life or well-being, you will find yourself making different choices based on your ethics and values.
5) Integrity
Lack of integrity can have immediate consequences; it’s difficult to work with people you don’t trust. But worse than that, a lack of integrity can sabotage your future success by destroying relationships and your reputation. Make a decision today to always be up-front and honest about what you know and what you don’t know and who you are as a person. This is one of those ethics that will not only improve your life but also benefit everyone around you.
6) Self-Discipline
If you’re anything like me, then you tend to procrastinate quite a bit. I always find ways to put things off until another day and as a result, I often work late into the night. This isn’t good. When it comes to productivity and being successful in life, self-discipline is king. If you don’t have self-discipline it is nearly impossible to be successful in any aspect of your life.
7) Courage
Courage is what allows us to act on our beliefs, despite opposition and fear. The art of courage may take a lifetime to master; don’t be discouraged if you fail failure will build your experience and make you better equipped for the next challenge. Learning how to cultivate courage in your life will add a sense of zest and purpose that might otherwise be missing. A little discomfort can lead to big rewards. Courage is not weakness it’s power.
These are 7 ethics that change your life, all you need is a little discipline and hard work and you can change your life in a few weeks. This will transform your life for good!
